Dice Trick
This adventure is my first maths one, and it relies on statistics. Kind of...
You see, when I was a kid, around 6-7, I had an IT lesson, and there was a teacher who showed us a trick that has stuck with me ever since then. It revolved around a dice, the face of the dice at least. The trick was that he could tell what the number of the dice would be on the opposite side. So if he saw a 2, then the other side would be a 5. My mind was blown, but why was it five.
The reason he knew why the opposite side of 2 on a dice is 5 is because of the production of dice. If you have ever gambled, or you are a humanities student, or you just have a decent general knowledge, you have probably heard the saying: "The house always wins". This means that no matter how good you are at cards, you will still lose while the dealer will win. It is because of this principle that the faces of dice are added to 7 to make sure it is a fair fixed dice and random. Imagine the faces on a dice were not fixed and added to 7, you would lose more at snakes and ladders what a tragedy.
That's it for this adventure, I hope you learnt this trick, and if not, stay tuned for more adventures.
